You are bidding on a very nice vintage 6-inch Catholic holy water font. This ceramic font has a white glazed finish on the front and features the Virgin Mary holding the Baby Jesus, with a kneeling winged angel on each side. The faces of the Blessed Mother and Jesus are painted in colors, and the entire piece has gold highlights. A hole at the top makes it ready to hang on a wall. It is 2.75 inches wide at its widest point. The back is marked with a five-digit number.
The gilding on the font is mostly intact, and the painted features of Mother and Child are finely done. There are no cracks. There is a small flake off the unglazed back of the very top of the piece.
