    Antique Porcelain Carmelite Holy Water Font
    A rare Carmelite, Christan holy water font
    Constructed from molded porcelain and painted by hand
    Probably dates from mid to late 19th century
    Probably german made. Possibly a Conte and Boheme or Shafer Vater product
    The number 5024 is imprinted inside the bowl, similar to Conte and Boheme four digit markings
    The shield and crown with two stars above one is a symbol for the Carmelites, a sect of Roman Catholicism featuring cloistered monks and nuns
    No damage. Some very minor discoloration in areas and minor loss to gilt. Normal wear
